It wasn’t exactly the type of start to the Republican National Convention that Paul Ryan, the House Speaker and leader of the Republican Party wanted.
Ryan, who in reality is a huge Green Bay Packers fan, came into Cleveland to kick things off and committed what many would be considered a mortal sin.
He got on stage and waved a ‘Terrible Towel’ – a Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towel.
You know, those yellow things that Steelers fans obsessively wave every week during their games wherever they seem to play.
Look at Paul Ryan waving a Terrible Towel….. in Cleveland… pic.twitter.com/vdsDYHY71I

In other words – whoops!
Call it a lapse of judgement or just a good old brain fart, whatever the case maybe, it didn’t exactly go over well with Cleveland fans, including transplant and die-hard Browns fan Eric Boland, who is a Cleveland native and now is the New York Yankees beat writer for Newsday.
So much script and stagecraft in politics, yet no one suggested to Paul Ryan that waving a Terrible Towel in Cleveland was a, um, bad fit

What’s next – Donald Trump wearing a Steph Curry on stage at the Q?

apparently, he isn’t a true green bay fan, or a fan of anyone or anything in the nfl, or he would have known better . . . but of course, he never knows better . . . .

Um, he was giving a speech to the Pennsylvania delegates in a conference room a few days ago so while the headline is technically correct it’s obviously written in a way to twist it so those that don’t know thinks he was doing this on stage at the RNC Convention.
