MLB.com writer Jesse Sanchez reports that the Toronto Blue Jays are near reaching a deal to re-sign Jose Bautista.

According to Sanchez and his source, “There are several contract details still being negotiated and a physical pending before the deal is finalized.”
Although adding Bautista would have made an already dangerous lineup even more fearsome in Cleveland, it’s not a big surprise that the Blue Jays would still pursue the slugger aggressively, and the Tribe still enters 2017 with one of the best lineups in baseball after the addition of Edwin Encarnacion.
