CLEVELAND– According to a report from WKYC, the Quicken Loans Arena renovation referendum gathered enough signatures to end up on the ballot.
The petitioners only needed to gather 6,000 valid signatures of Cuyahoga County residents, and ended up submitting over 20,000. Thirteen thousand were deemed valid.
The process is not over yet, however. The measure will now head to Cleveland City Council to determine whether or not it will appear on the ballot.
If you need a refresher, the Cavaliers are proposing $140 million dollars worth of renovations to The Q. The cost of renovations would be split between the team, the county, the city and Destination Cleveland.
