According Bleacher Report’s NFL writer Jason Cole, the Washington Redskins are keeping options open to trade quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Cole’s “Washington insider source” mentioned the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers as two of the most likely destinations.
This doesn’t mean Washington is even leaning towards trading Cousins, but it’s not out of the question.
If the Browns were to trade for Cousins, it would likely require their No. 12 overall pick and more high picks in the 2017 Draft or possibly in future years.
Cousins had a great season from a statistical standpoint, passing for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
The Redskins missed the Playoffs, but for a team with an inconsistent defense and running game, Cousins was a bright spot nearly every week.
The price would be steep, but in a draft with no standout quarterbacks, Cousins may be on the Browns’ radar.
