BEREA, OH — Since embattled wide receiver Josh Gordon has yet to report to Browns training camp, behind the scenes, Cleveland’s brass has been vetting other options at the position. As general manager John Dorsey admitted during the first week of camp, that includes former Dallas Cowboys’ star Dez Brant.
Cleveland’s interest in Bryant is serious enough that they’ve reportedly offered the 29-year-old a one-year contract. If so, the ball is in his court, but apparently his interest in the Browns may not be mutual.
As ESPN’s Josina Anderson shared in a tweet on Tuesday, Bryant isn’t seriously considering joining the Browns.
#Browns source tells me the Corey Coleman trade was not specifically done to clear space for free agent WR Dez Bryant. Additionally source said, there's an impression they have that Bryant is not seriously interested in coming to Cleveland.

Bryant already turned down a contract offer from one of the Browns division foes. Earlier this offseason Baltimore offered the boisterous wideout a three-year contract, but his desire to play for a playoff contender has been a key factor in his search for a new team.
Following an 0-16 season, there’s certainly reason to question whether or not the Browns fall into that category as well, however, Bryant would easily find a significant role in Cleveland. With no word on when Gordon will return to the team and after trading Corey Coleman, the Browns have a need at wide receiver. A one-year, prove-it deal could be the perfect storm for Bryant to get his career back on track and earn big money next offseason.
Bryant has seen his numbers dip in recent years, since last posting a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2014. In 2017, the three-time Pro-Bowler caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.
