Rose will be 29 years old heading into the 2017-18 season and averaged 18.0 points per game, shooting 47 percent from the field with the Knicks last season, playing in 64 games.
Depending on what happens with the Kyrie Irving situation, Rose could either start the season at point guard or come off the bench, depending on who the Cavs have on the roster.
It’s possible the Cavs could trade for a point guard, like Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic or Jamal Murray (all of whom were named as possible trade candidates in Zach Lowe’s report on ESPN Monday), and then have Rose on the court alongside one of them.
