The fight had been hyped up for months, as Mayweather and McGregor both traded verbal jabs in the buildup to this fight. Mayweather would start discussions last year with a created fight poster donning McGregor and himself, where the Notorious one would take time out of his UFC press conferences to bash Mayweather and call him out for a boxing match.
Throughout all of the hurdles both sides had to jump through in regards to fight payouts, who would be the banner in which the fight was held under and so much more, this fight seemed destined to happen…and now it is.
According to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, the announcement of this fight could be coming within the next few hours.
Yahoo's @KevinI is reporting Mayweather-McGregor is done for 8/26 in Las Vegas. One source says an announcement could come in hours time.

With the boxing megafight between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez scheduled in September, there was obviously a point of emphasis on getting this fight scheduled before that.
