The Cleveland Cavaliers might be welcoming back an old friend, as they have extended a training camp invite to big man Kendrick Perkins. Perkins played with the Cavs back in 2015 and even saw some time during the 2015 NBA Finals.
Perkins was not brought back the following season and did not even play in the NBA last season. Nonetheless, Perkins has always been a good teammate and someone guys like having around, which is why it’s no surprise that he’s been given a chance to make the team this year.
The report was first broke by cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon and social media posts from LeBron, Richard Jefferson, and J.R. Smith helped confirm that Perkins is indeed with the team currently and participated in LeBron’s mini-camp in California.

It will be interesting to see if Perkins makes the team and if he does, what his role will be this upcoming season.
