CLEVELAND– Just when everyone thought the Kyrie Irving trade saga was over, it may come roaring back with a vengeance.
According to a new report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers are still “weighing options” after Isaiah Thomas underwent a physical on Friday at the Cleveland Clinic. Officials are still evaluating his hip, which Thomas initially injured in March and re-aggravated in the Eastern Conference Finals. He has not yet been cleared to play.
If Thomas does not pass his physical, the trade that sent Irving to Boston for Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets unprotected 2018 first-round draft pick, could potentially be voided by the league.
Wojnarowski said that Thomas’ clearance remains a “sensitive subject.”
In an appearance on SportsCenter, Wojnarowski also stated that if Thomas fails his physical, the Cavs could hypothetically go back to the Celtics and ask them to add to the trade package. If that’s a route Cleveland takes, they would most likely ask Boston for more draft pics.

Thomas traveled to Cleveland, took exam and flew back out of town, sources said. All players must pass physical, or a deal can be voided.
