Report: Browns QB Robert Griffin III Won’t Need Surgery on Shoulder

In a season that has yet to see them win a game in 2016, the Browns today got some good news about one of their injured quarterbacks, that being Robert Griffin III, who managed to last just one game before going on injured reserve.

ESPN reports that the four-week checkup of RGIII’s fractured coracoid bone in his left shoulder is improving, and that he will not have to have surgery.

The fact that he won’t need surgery means he might be able to make a return under center later this season. If he would have had to have surgery, a return would have been unlikely.

As it stands now, the earliest Griffin could get back on the playing field is November 10th against the Baltimore Ravens.

The report also says that Griffin is planning on being patient in terms of making a return to the field, and as of now there’s no timetable for him to be able to play again.
