While it appears to be no secret at this point that the Cleveland Browns are going to be drafting a quarterback with the first overall pick, Cleveland is still looking to add another veteran presence in their quarterback room. According to reports on Thursday, that veteran might be a former starter.
That former starter? Drew Stanton, who previously suited up for the Arizona Cardinals.
Some Browns QB news: the team hosted free agent Drew Stanton for a visit, per source.

I'm told free-agent quarterback Drew Stanton didn't visit Cleveland but briefly ran into #Browns leadership while they were on the West Coast, so the team notified the league of the talk.

Stanton hasn’t started many games, just over a season’s worth with seventeen starts. However, he is 11-6 when in the starting role and is a good enough game-manager to win games for a team when called upon. Stanton has thrown for 4,059 passing yards and has compiled twenty touchdowns to twenty-four interceptions in his seven-year career. With a 52.4 completion percentage, Stanton is decently accurate with his throws.
One other thing that Stanton does have on his resume, though he probably isn’t thrilled about this tidbit. As a twenty-four-year-old rookie, Stanton was a part of the 2008 Detroit Lions that went 0-16 on the season. If he were to join Cleveland, he would have played for the only two NFL teams that have gone 0-16 in a campaign. Not a great thing to boast about, but it’s a fact nonetheless.
