If you look at the landscape of the NBA, there’s really just not a ton of great options out there this time around for James.

The two cities that some have always felt he has wanted to play in– New York and Los Angeles– are two teams that clearly are not ready to make a title run, and even the addition of James isn’t going to mean an automatic title run for either of those two franchises.

Yes the thought of going to Philly, San Antonio or even Houston is being floated around, but again, those teams are in their own situations and James coming to town is going to flip the script on the work those teams have done to try and build.

If there was ever a season where James probably wishes there were better options out there– it would be this one.
