1.) Is Trevor Bauer turning it around?
In Bauer’s start this evening, he put in his third consecutive quality start. In Bauer’s previous two starts he came away with the victory and also has limited the number of walks allowed.
On May 14 against the Minnesota Twins, Bauer pitched 6 innings, gave up 7 hits, gave up 3 earned runs, allowed one homer, didn’t walk a batter and struck out 7.
On May 19 against the Houston Astros, Bauer pitched 5.2 innings, gave up 5 hits, gave up 3 earned runs, allowed 2 home runs, walked one, and struck out 9.
In tonight’s start, Trevor Bauer pitched 5.1 innings, gave up 4 hits, gave up 2 earned runs, allowed a homer, walked two, and struck out 6.
In his last three starts, Bauer has only allowed 3 walks and struck out 22 batters.
Bauer was in line for the win once again when Boone Logan came on in relief in the sixth inning, right before the rain delay.
In the first inning, Bauer faced 4 batters and struck out two to begin the game.
