Since Isaiah Thomas came in to the Cavs rotation, Kevin Love’s shot attempts per game have dropped from 13.9 to 9.2. On Sunday night, however, without Love’s shooting the team may not have prevailed.
Love went 8-of-14 (57.1 percent) from the field and ended with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Without his shooting, in the first half in particular, the Pistons would have had a better chance at opening up their six-point lead a bit more.
Over his three years in Cleveland, Love has often been an underappreciated offensive asset. Tonight’s performance showed why that shouldn’t be the case.
