65th Overall: Ahkello Witherspoon CB Colorado
Another big framed secondary player, Witherspoon was one of the trio of Colorado secondary players. He really excelled in coverage which is what the Browns need and if he can improve his ability against the run then the Browns land a second round corner in round three.
108th Overall: Jeremy McNichols RB Boise State
I mocked him here a little later in my projected mock but I really like McNichols among a strong class of RBs and would not wait. The Browns need one more back to put in there and his skill set is a good balance of everything.
145th Overall: Anthony Walker LB Northwestern
Anthony Walker could be one of the few true 4-3 MLBs in the draft this year. He went to Northwestern so he has the smarts and instincts to play the position. He performed better than I thought he would at the Combine so some of the physical questions may have less question marks around him. He could be one of the mid round LBs that could develop into a starter on this team.
175th Overall: Eddie Vanderdoes DT UCLA
A former five-star high school recruit before tearing his ACL and not getting back to the same form, Eddie still has some skills to be drafted. The interior defense needs some depth and improved run stoppers and if he gets back to where he should be health wise, Cleveland gets another player that went a couple rounds later than he should.
181st Overall: Adam Bisnowaty OT Pitt
The front office did a nice job fixing most the offensive line in free agency. Center and Right Guard have been improved, the left side of the line is still solid, and John Greco is an above average injury replacement for the interior. The problem is the hole at RT. Cam Erving and Shonn Coleman should compete for it but the team could add a late round tackle to compete with the underachievers.
185th Overall: Nate Hairston CB Temple
I like the idea of just sitting back this year in a deep class and just using them on players. Nate Hairston does not have a ton of experience at CB after converting from WR but watching him in drills you can see the potential. There is not a lot of current depth at the position in Cleveland and Hairston could see some game time experience during the rebuild while the coaches work with him on technique.
188th Overall: Zane Gonzalez K Arizona State
Cleveland still has Cody Parkey on the roster and after missing three field goals in his debut including a game winner, he was solid down the stretch. However, he is a 60% career kicker from 40-49 yards which is not going to cut it in the NFL. Gonzalez is the best kicker in this Draft, and went 13 of 15 from over 40 yards in college in 2016. He had as many 50 yard field goals made in 2 games this past year as Parkey has in his entire NFL career. A big leg kicker with accuracy is what Cleveland needs in the late months of the year. Late on day three you are looking for players who can make an impact, Gonzalez is one of them.
