Professional Cornhole returned to Northeast Ohio on Friday as the American Cornhole League (ACL) hosted Pro Shootout #8 at the Canton Pro Football Hall of Fame Village Center for Performance.

The finals for the Pro Shootout took place on July 14 and included championship matches for Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles, and Doubles.

The first finals match of the night was the Women’s Singles match.

In this match, Sarah Cassidy, a third year ACL pro from Spring Hill, Florida took on Miranda Coy, also a third year pro from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Cassidy was the 2020 Women’s Singles Cornhole World Champion and also was the World Champion in Women’s  Doubles competition in 2020 and 2022.

The 2020 world champion, Cassidy, edged out Coy 19-14 to win the Canton ACL Pro Shootout.

“I am really excited, it took all season (to get the victory),” said Cassidy.  “This is the final one of the season and I am happy I got that one.”

In the post-tournament interview, Cassidy talked about a few mental aspects that were important in performing well and securing her victory.

In particular, the match was very close at the end and Cassidy explained how she handled the pressure.

“I have some experience with pressure so I learned to push through it, so that’s what got me through it today,” said Cassidy. “I just had to stay relaxed and have fun out there. Once you have fun, the better you throw.”

In the second finals match of the night, first year ACL pro, Ryan Hart from Louisville, Kentucky, took on Devon Harbaugh, a fourth year pro from Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
