PREVIEW: For third straight year, Cavs and Warriors face-off on Christmas

Three-point battle

Half of the Splash Brothers, Steph Curry, is still out after spraining his ankle in the first week of December. But as always, with the team who quite literally revolutionized the way the game is played, the Cavs have to contest shots from deep.

The Cavs are averaging more 3-pointers per game than the Warriors, (12.5 compared to 11.6) but the Warriors have been slightly more efficient from beyond the arc, shooting 38.8 percent while the Cavs are at 38.3 percent.

And adding even more fuel to Golden State’s fire is the fact that against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, the Warriors shot an abysmal 3-of-27 from deep. That type of performance today is highly unlikely.

“They’re gonna make some tough shots because that’s who they are, but we’ve got to eliminate the easy ones,” head coach Tyronn Lue said after practice on Sunday.
