- James on verge of best season ever
James is posting unprecedented numbers in a sample of 22 contests, with career-highs in field goal percentage (58.3%), two-point field goal percentage (63.7%), three-point field goal percentage (42.5%) and blocks per game (1.2). His role in the post has led to this efficiency, as exemplified in a 57-point effort against the Wizards on Nov. 3, one of his best performances that entailed 23-for-34 (67.6%) shooting from the field – only two three-point field goals – 9-for-9 shooting from the charity stripe, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and three steals.
The 32-year-old out of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School landed the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for November, propelling him to the top of the Most Valuable Player conversation. With Isaiah Thomas, Rose and Thompson on the mend, expect James to shoulder a heavy workload.
