1. 13th Time the Charm
Edwin Jackson is back – again. The A’s inked Jackson to a Minor League contract 24 days ago, and Saturday the veteran right handed pitcher will take the hill for Oakland for a MLB record tying 13th different team.
Whose record is Jackson tying with playing for the A’s – team number 13? If you said Octavio Dotel, then you deserve a prize.
Back to Jackson, he’s 34 years old and has a career 4.67 ERA. His last team was the Nationals, where he went 5-6 with an ERA of 4.55.
This is his 2nd start for the A’s, and in his first start against the Tigers he lasted an impressive six innings, allowing a run on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
We will see if he can repeat the outing against the Indians lineup on Saturday. The last time out against the Tribe was back in 2015, where he threw two innings in relief for the Cubs against the Indians in a Tribe 6-0 win.
