PREVIEW: Indians-Yankees game three

CLEVELAND– The Cleveland Indians (51-42) are taking on the New York Yankees (61-32) in game three of their four-game series.

Time: 7:10 p.m.

Starting Pitchers: CLE Mike Clevinger (7-4, 3.34) vs. NYY CC Sabathia (6-4, 3.34)

TV:  FOX

Radio: WTAM 1100 AM, WMMS 100.7 FM, Indians Radio Network

1. CC takes the mound

Sabathia continues to defy father time in the 2018 season. At 37 years old, he’s amassed 75 strikeouts across 94.1 innings, while giving up 35 earned runs.  His last start came against Baltimore and he went five innings and permitted five runs on seven hits (including two homers).

The former Cleveland Indian has a career record of 51-41 through 123 starts at Progressive Field with a 3.80 ERA.

2. Sunshine’s innings pitched

Clevinger needs to go just 5 2/3 innings on Saturday in order to match his inning total from 2017, showing the offseason work he put in to go deeper into games has really paid off dividends.

His last start came against the Reds on Monday, when he went six innings and allowed five earned runs on seven hits while striking out a season-high 11 hitters.

3. Jose Jose Jose Jose!

Through the first two games of this series, Jose Ramirez has gone 4-for-6 at the plate (one triple, one homer) with four RBI and two walks.

He’ll certainly be looking to add to his home run total (28) and already has the most first half homers in franchise history.
