1. Can Clev Slow Down the Yankees?
The Indians pitching staff has had some solid moments over the first two games of the series, shutting down the New York offense and at times looking like the best staff in the American League.
Then on both days there’s been moments of the wheels coming off, like in the New York four-run fifth inning on Saturday as they took a commanding 4-1 lead in their eventual 5-2 win.
Mike Clevinger who comes into Sunday’s game at 2-0 with a solid 2.82 ERA, allowed three runs on seven hits in his last start on May 1st against the Rangers.
In his last two stars, Clevinger has allowed seven earned runs on 15 hits in 12.2 innings. This after allowing 5 runs on 19 hits over his first five starts, 25.2 innings pitched.
He needs to stay away from allowing New York to have the big inning.
