1. Can Clev get a win?
Mike Clevinger has, for the most part, pitched well in the second half of the season. Despite that, however, he has not recorded a win since July 1 due to a lack of run support or blown save opportunities.
Against Minnesota on Wednesday, Clevinger gave up just one run but was denied the win when Cody Allen allowed the Twins to tie the game in the ninth.
2. Offensive fire on both sides
In three games this season, Joey Votto is hitting .273 against Cleveland with one home run and four RBI. If you need a refresher, when these two teams faced off at Progressive Field in July, Cincinnati rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the top of the ninth. A Votto bases-clearing double ultimately gave the Reds a 7-4 win.
For Cleveland, Jose Ramirez is hitting .308 with three homers and six RBI against Cincinnati in 2018.
3. The 2018 Ohio Cup
After their series at Progressive Field, the Reds lead the Ohio Cup, 2-1. The Indians have won the Ohio Cup in two out of the last three seasons.
The Reds just took their series against the Diamondbacks two games to one. Cleveland has won seven of its last nine games, including two out of three against the Chicago White Sox.
