The Cleveland Cavaliers end their four-game road trip on Wednesday night with a visit to Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Charlotte Hornets. The Cavs are coming off of a successful come-from-behind victory against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden and are on a two-game winning streak at the moment. Cleveland has been reaping the benefits of one Kyle Korver, who has seemingly come into his own this season. Korver has lit it up in the fourth quarter of quite a few games this season and has earned the moniker “Mr. Fourth Korver” as a result. It will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets tonight as he continues to expand his role with his production off the bench. LeBron James was just one rebound away from a triple-double against the Knicks and after a rather emotion-driven game on Monday, James and company look to take emotion out of their contest tonight and secure a victory against Kemba Walker’s Hornets.
Charlotte has lost four in a row, last time out dropping a tough one to the streaking Boston Celtics. Besides Walker, look for Jeremy Lamb and Dwight Howard to get involved in the Hornets’ offensive attack. Howard has found himself in Charlotte after bouncing around in Houston and Atlanta the last two years. The big man is currently averaging a double-double with 14.4 points per game while securing 13.2 rebounds. Howard has been able to feed off of Walker’s “attack first, worry later mindset” and has found himself in his comfort zone inside the paint many times so far this season. If he gets going against the undersized Cavaliers, it could mean a big day is in store for him.
Before the Cavs come home, let’s take a look at three keys for a victory in Charlotte.
