1. Give up fewer 3s
The last time these two teams faced off, the Cavs came away with a 119-112 win at The Q on Oct. 24. One of the reasons it was such a close game, however, was the Cavs’ atrocious perimeter defense. Cleveland let Chicago shoot 17-of-33 from deep, for a whopping 51.5 percent. Justin Holiday and Lauri Markannen had a field day, going 4-of-9 and 5-of-8 from behind the arc, respectively.
During the streak, however, the Cavs have played great one-on-one defense and are missing fewer rotations. If they can keep that up, the Bulls’ three-point efficiency will likely drop.
Inversely, the Cavs have nailed at least 10 three-pointers in their last 12 games, averaging 13.5 triples per game. Efficiency on both ends of the floor from the perimeter will go a long way on Monday.
