Now that the game that everyone was waiting for is over, the Cavaliers are going to try to get back to a sense of normalcy tonight, but it will not be easy as they head to Philadelphia for a meeting with the 76’ers.
The 76’ers come into play Friday night with a mark of 13-7, good for second place in the Atlantic Division, but are still a force that is hoping to make a lot more noise than last season the NBA Playoffs.
For the Cavs, they hung tough with their old friend LeBron James and the Lakers on Wednesday, and even held a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter, only to again not be able to finish, and watch as LeBron and company left the Quicken Loans Arena floor with a 109-105 loss.
While it was yet another loss for the Cavs, there was some signs of improvement for a now 2-14 club who are simply trying to find some footing in what thus far has been a lost season.
The team committed a season low three turnovers against the Lakers, and not only was it a season low, it was the lowest in a game dating back to March of 2009.
In the loss, the team got a good showing from Cedi Osman, who in 42 minutes had 21 points to go along with seven rebounds. Colin Sexton scored 12 points against the Lakers, and has been finally playing better as of late.
Philadelphia has lost 11 of their last 13 against the Cavs, but of course that was under very different circumstances, and no one on the Cavs can match up with Joel Embiid, who is putting up 28 points and 14 rebounds per game, and could have a monster night against the Cavs.
Look for a long night for the wine and gold, but hopefully they can make it a game if they play as well as they did in the battle with LeBron on Wednesday night.
