James, Lillard form premier matchup
While they may not be guarding each other, Lillard and LeBron James have arguably been the top two players in basketball throughout the past month.
James is averaging a triple-double over his last 15 games with 29.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 10.3 assists, and has a career-high 14 triple-doubles this year. Another double-double would make him the sixth active player to reach 400.
Lillard has led the NBA in points in the later stages of February and early March, notching 26-or-more points in seven of his last eight games played. He has eclipsed the 30-point plateau on 18 different occasions this season, and the 40-point plateau three times.
Each player is averaging 26.9 points per game on the campaign, tied for fourth in the league.
