PREVIEW: Cavaliers look to avoid three-game losing streak tonight against Knicks

3. Get back on track

The Cavs had a great two games to open up the season against the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Since then, things have been… less than stellar.

Since then, they have lost three out of four contests, and have struggled on the defensive end especially. Despite the rough week, there doesn’t seem to be much of a sense of urgency.

Yes, the season is long, and we don’t really know what is being said behind closed doors. But it appears that overall the team isn’t too worried about their outlook given how early it is, and how many new pieces they have.

It’s not to say those aren’t valid reasons. They have had four different starting lineups in six games. If Derrick Rose does in fact make his return tonight, this will be the fifth in seven games. On Sunday night, however, the Cavs need to at least make the attempt to press the reset button. It may be early, but there is no better time than the present.
