Loves:
QB Matt Ryan ATL $8,300
Matt Ryan still has Julio Jones. The key to the matchup comes down to Atlanta’s defense stopping the Dallas rush. If they can, time of possession won’t be a major factor and Ryan can go after a hurt Dallas team to get a huge road victory.
QB Carson Palmer $8,100
In spite of throwing for less than 200 yards due to the defense and special teams’ two scores, Palmer still managed to put up 22 points last week. This week, he goes up against a 49ers defense that was rattled apart by “Big Ben” Roethlisberger last week.
RB Giovani Bernard CIN $7,200
Bernard surprisingly got more carries than Hill last week. While I can’t guarantee that he will do the same again in Baltimore, he should still be good for 3-6 catches on top of his runs against a disappointing Ravens team.
RB Joseph Randle DAL $6,500
With the injury to Romo, I expect Dallas to focus on the run game behind its strong offensive line. Randle has been the RB getting the first crack at it in the first two weeks, so he’d be the guy I go with again. Atlanta also hasn’t had a great defense for the past couple of years.
RB CJ Spiller NO $6,000
I love the Panthers defense this week, but Spiller might be able to sneak in there as a value play for people. This Saints offense doesn’t look the same without Jimmy Graham, and as for their reception leader this year? It’s Mark Ingram. If they are forced to go with a backup QB, they need to get some quick passes going to the RBs out in space like Sproles and Woodhead have done this season. And with Spiller finally getting game time last week, he would be the perfect option to do that on this offense.
WR Demaryius Thomas DEN $8,400
I know Peyton Manning doesn’t have the arm like he used to, but they get a chance in a dome against a beatable group in the Lions’ secondary. Although Emmanuel Sanders has gotten the TDs so far this year, Thomas did get over 100 yards last week, and his size should make him a red zone threat. He’s due for a breakout game.
WR Brandon Marshall NYJ $7,400
Everybody wrote Marshall off as being done, but man have the Jets gotten a steal so far. He’s had great chemistry with Ryan Fitzpatrick, recording at least 6 catches and a TD in the first two games. We all heard about the Eagles CB turnover during the offseason, so let’s see if Marshall can keep it rolling with a favorable matchup.
WR Kendall Wright TEN $5,900
The Colts are another team riddled with injuries at the CB position, and since the Colts love to throw the football, it means Marcus Mariota may have to put some points up on the board. Wright is the best receiver on that team and can be worth a shot.
WR Travis Benjamin CLE $5,600
He’s definitely a big gamble, but he could also pay off. He’s third among fantasy receivers so far, despite only catching six passes. You’ll risk him not getting a lot of catches, but chances are he can burn someone in that Oakland secondary for a big score or possibly on special teams.
TE Rob Gronkowski NE $8,400
They are playing Jacksonville. It’s really just a matter of how many TDs he can score before they completely blow them out.
D Seahawks $5,300
Kind of a no brainer again here, but they face a Bears team that may start Clausen on the road. The 12th man will be alive and rolling Sunday.
D Jets $4,500
They have 10 turnovers forced already this year. 10. That’s one less than Demarco Murray has rushing yards this year on 21 attempts, and combined with a non-mobile QB in Sam Bradford, it could make for an ugly game.
