Loves:
QB Carson Palmer ARI $8,200
The Ravens made Kaepernick look good which is hard to believe from Thursday’s game. The Ravens are falling apart and losing all steam. The Cardinals should come out hungry after losing to Pittsburgh last week too.
QB Philip Rivers SD $8,000
I started him last week and he racked up over 500 yards for me. Oakland is another bad defensive team. San Diego has also seemed to abandon the run with Gordon struggling. If some of his weapons can get healthy again Rivers will continue to be a nice start each week.
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick NYJ $7,100
He has been surprisingly consistent on the year. He doesn’t put up the best numbers but it has always been good enough that if you want to spend more elsewhere you can plug him in. He gets the favorable matchup in a shootout with the Patriots so will have an increased bang for your buck.
QB Landry Jones PIT $6,000
I’m putting four quarterbacks on my love this week. Just like Mettenberger you can get another starting quarterback for value here. I like Jones a lot too but I didn’t start him because he doesn’t have as much of a track record. He looked good last week leading them to a win over Arizona but will he repeat? Kansas City gives up the third most points to QBs so that’s at least a good sign to play him in your lineup.
RB Adrian Peterson MIN $8,900
The Lions rank towards the bottom of the league in points allowed to running backs. They gave up a bunch of points to the Bears last week to survive and win their first game. With losing Suh and Fairley, the Lions haven’t found the key to stopping the run inside. Peterson is still one of the best at what he does and Minnesota should rely on him this week.
RB Arian Foster HOU $8,600
I’m determined to not mess up the running backs this week again. I like a lot of these big names backs this week, Foster included. Miami allows the second most rushing yards per game. Foster is now starting to settle back into things so he should be a nice play too.
RB Danny Woodhead SD $6,000
Melvin Gordon’s struggles this year means more time for Woodhead. He has already been among the best pass catching running backs in the league and if he starts getting more carries he can be dangerous too. At only $6,000, Woodhead makes sense.
WR Amari Cooper OAK $7,300
If Rivers throws the ball and puts up points Oakland is going to have to match. San Diego is much weaker against the run than the pass but I think this game could get high scoring and Cooper has been consistently solid all season.
WR John Brown ARI $6,700
I said I love the Cardinals this week. Brown was a big time player last week and he could easily be a deep threat against Baltimore this week.
WR Jamison Crowder WAS $5,800
Here’s a value play for wide receiver. DeSean Jackson is out again this week so some of his targets are going to go Crowders way. Tampa gives up the sixth most points to WRs this year.
WR Nate Washington HOU $4,900
Here’s your really deep play if you are inclined. He could be the next Diggs. Washington returns after missing the last month with a hamstring problem. With Shorts out, Washington can real in some balls with all the added attention on Hopkins.
TE Antonio Gates SD $5,800/Ladarius Green SD $5,100
I’m lumping the two in together because I don’t know if Gates will play. He hasn’t practiced all week after a sprained MCL. Oakland allows the most points to tight ends so whoever ends up starting is the guy you want on your team.
TE Gary Barnidge CLE $5,900
Barnidge has been red hot. If the Rams get pressure on McCown he will be looking to his security blanket early and often. He could have another big game this week.
DEF Panthers $4,800
They are already the third highest scoring defense in the league. Bradford has just looked bad on the year and hasn’t been able to hit his targets consistently. The Panthers could take full advantage of it and make his life hell.
