My Lineup:
QB Blake Bortles JAC $8,200
The Jaguars have not been officially eliminated from playoff contention just yet so the fight is still there. Their offense has really surprised me with Bortles progression this year. The Saints also continue to be the NFL’s worst defense allowing more points than anybody else. They allowed the Lions, pretty much playing without Calvin Johnson to throw as many incompletions as TDs. Bortles and the Jaguars offense is better than the Lions so if Stafford put up 22 I’m guessing Bortles gets at least 25.
RB David Johnson ARI $7,300
Props to you if you started him on your team last week. Green Bay ranks in the bottom half of the league in rushing defense and the Cardinals don’t have a reason to not get the ball in Johnson’s hands. With 378 yards his last three games, you should probably be starting him.
RB Charcandrick West KC $6,700
His numbers the last few weeks have been modest. After suffering his injury a month ago, he kind of went back into a timeshare with Ware. With Ware dealing with a ribs injury he got almost all of the touches last week. The Browns are 31st against the run so if he gets a lot of the carries again this week will be a very good option for your lineup.
WR Antonio Brown PIT $9,300
Well, he totally proved me wrong last week. I thought he would be in for a mild game with Roethlisberger distributing it to everybody. Instead Brown just went off. This week his numbers should come down a little bit but Baltimore still has a secondary that is hurting. Brown will be started by a lot of people again this week.
WR Golden Tate DET $6,700
Tate has experienced a huge bump up in value with Calvin Johnson just not being healthy. Tate over his last five has had at least six receptions in every game and five touchdowns. The kicker on him is that he has not hit 75 yards in any of those games. He should get there this week with the matchup against San Francisco.
WR Stefon Diggs MIN $6,000
I wanted to put him in my love list last week but held back from it. I’ll put him in there this week because he faces the Giants who allow more passing yards than any other team in the NFL. Picking a WR with Bridgewater as his QB is risky, but you need to find some value plays somewhere. The matchup is why and with Bridgewater throwing for four touchdowns last week, he should have some confidence and hopefully the hot streak will continue.
TE Julius Thomas JAC $6,500
It’s a terrible week out there for TEs except for Thomas. I’m stacking him with Bortles hoping for a big game against the Saints defense. He has at least 8.5 fantasy points in his last five games and with Robinson and Hurns continuing to deal with injuries Thomas is left as his main healthy target out there. I would be surprised if he doesn’t find the endzone at least once on Sunday.
K Blair Walsh MIN $4,600
Walsh has scored in the double digits his last two games. The Giants allow the fourth most points to opposing kickers this season. With Beckham being out, the offense for the Giants may be on the field less and Bridgewater has a chance against the weak Giants secondary to put Walsh in great position.
DEF Bills $4,600
I’m taking a gamble here but you have to take some chances somewhere. I’ll do it on defense where your chances to put up big points are much less than the other positions. The Bills defense has played poorly, but they play Kellen Moore this week who in relief for Matt Cassel, still managed to throw three interceptions. The Bills need to capitalize on a young QB making his first start.
