Hates:
QB Philip Rivers $7,800
Since the Chiefs are a must-play when it comes to defenses, it’s pretty obvious you don’t want to be starting Rivers, who was awful the last time the two teams played. 17 points or less in 3 of the last 4 games isn’t going to win you any fantasy titles. It’s not going to get it done on Sunday either.
RB DeMarco Murray $6,700
The role for Murray is totally up in the air with Ryan Matthews possibly coming back from a concussion, and with the way Chip Kelly does things, you can’t trust this play. Don’t get burned and play a guy that could easily see less than 10 carries. The best bet is to see if Matthews is active, if he is, look elsewhere.
RB LeGarrette Blount $6,300
The Texans will not allow Blount very much this week, as even with an banged up J.J. Watt this is going to be a tough matchup for the Pats run game. Even as the featured back, it’s tough to believe that Blount will have more than 40-50 yards on the ground this week, making him a sit for sure in one-day leagues.
WR Amari Cooper $6,900
Cooper will eat up a solid portion of your salary in your one-day leagues, so read this before you just assume he’s a solid play. Cooper was held to four catches for 47 yards on four targets the last time the Raiders and Denver played, and we expect much of the same this time around. Look for maybe 50-60 yards and no scores from Cooper Sunday.
WR Dez Bryant $7,400Antonio Gates TE / San Diego Chargers (at KC)
Don’t buy into Monday’s win for the Cowboys, they still have issues scoring, and Bryant is a guy that isn’t going to prosper against a Packers team that wants to win the North, and will not take it easy on Sunday against them. He’s not getting the ball very much, as he’s got single digits in targets in five of the six games he’s played since coming back from his foot injury in Week 8. That won’t change against the Pack.
TE Antonio Gates $5,700
Gates against the Chargers had 6 catches, but he will be hard pressed to have that again this week as the Chargers take on the Chiefs. KC won’t allow much for a Chargers offense that has been struggling, and one that put up just three points in a loss to Denver last week. Don’t trust Gates this week, or anyone for San Diego for that matter.
