Hates:
QB Russell Wilson SEA $7,800
I’m not buying into his five touchdown performance last week. For starters it was against Pittsburgh. Second he lost his best offensive weapon for the season. Third they have a strong run game and I would go back to that. The last reason is the Vikings have the fourth best pass defense in the NFL.
QB Drew Brees NO $7,700
Brees has not put up even 15 fantasy points in his last two starts. Going against one of the top defenses in Carolina will not help him especially against their secondary. Norman should be in talks for DPOY for the Panthers at CB. The Saints are a mess Brees included.
RB Todd Gurley STL $8,400
The lack of a passing game has really hurt Gurley. Teams are just starting to put more bodies in the box and forcing the Rams to throw the ball to beat them rather than give anything up to Gurley. So far that strategy has worked well in recent weeks. I expect the Cardinals trust their corners enough to do the same.
RB DeMarco Murray PHI $7,400
Murray has come crashing back to reality along with all of the Eagles after we thought they might be getting ready to go on a run. The Eagles are hurt by their matchup against the Patriots. Tom Brady loves to throw the ball and the secondary has been a concern for Philadelphia. If the game gets out of hand early which it certainly could, then the Eagles will abandon the run and Murray.
WR Mike Evans TB $7,900
With Vincent Jackson coming back he has seen a drop in the number of targets he’s getting a game. He also hasn’t posted over 65 yards the last two weeks. He will also matchup against Trufant who is among the most underrated corners in the NFL.
WR Brandin Cooks NO $7,100
Cooks gets to up against Norman who I will continue to rave about week after week. The Saints played Houston last week who ranks third against the pass and Cooks was held to just 35 yards. I’m not a fan of his at all this week.
WR Michael Crabtree OAK $6,600
Crabtree has not done much recently after he was beginning to merge as a 1A 1B combo with Cooper. The Chiefs pass defense statistically ranks poor but have been playing much better besides allowing a big day to Watkins last week. Either way Crabtree hasn’t surpassed 55 yards in three weeks. I need him to prove himself before going back in my lineup.
WR Stefon Diggs MIN $6,200
Diggs made himself a name for when he started blowing things up midway through the season. However the Vikings offense runs through Peterson and that’s exactly what he has been doing. The matchup with Seattle should tell you to stay away from Diggs.
WR Stevie Johnson SD $6,200
Johnson has come on as the best San Diego receiver in an offense that throws the ball constantly. This week they play Denver though who is the only team allowing less than 200 yards a game passing. Stevie has his work cut out for him.
TE Gary Barnidge CLE $6,100
McCown his buddy is done for the season. Who knows what QB we will see each week on the Cleveland carousel. This week Austin Davis is the starter so we have no idea what kind of chemistry they have. Until that gets proven, there are much better cost effective alternatives.
