My Lineup:
QB Andy Dalton CIN $8,000
Even without Eifert I’m going to roll with Dalton. The Browns are still missing Haden and they just gave up a bunch of yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Matt Schaub. Dalton put up 22 fantasy points the last time he faced the Browns. He could be in line for another stat like that.
RB LeSean McCoy BUF $7,800
Williams is out for this week so there is less of a chance of him cutting into Shady’s carries. He has been running the ball well of late and is starting to get involved in the pass game to improve his value. The Texans are a team that struggles against the run so McCoy could see 25+ carries in this one.
RB David Johnson ARI $5,900
Down goes Chris Johnson and Ellington and now it’s Davids turn to shine. He looked great with his limited opportunities early the season. He had a niche for finding the endzone on only a few touches. Touchdowns are what he needs to put up points. The Rams offense is struggling and with him being the guy he could see a lot of touches as well for a great price.
WR AJ Green CIN $8,400
I love Green this week with Eifert out. Dalton needs to find a second redzone target and at 6’4” Green is a perfect fit. He struggled when he was matched up with Haden but with him out he has nobody to worry about. He found the endzone twice last week and that is another possibility in this one.
WR Allen Robinson JAC $8,000
Allen Hurns is out this week for Jacksonville. Robinson and Hurns were the go to guys for touchdowns and with one down, Robinson should see a lot of his targets including in the redzone. The Titans are tied for the worst record in football so Bortles may have a good game.
WR Alshon Jeffery CHI $7,700
This is my start of the week. Jeffery has done amazing this year when he has been healthy and would likely been a top five receiver if he could have stayed healthy. The 49ers have nobody that can cover him. He can make some big plays and burn the secondary or get the fades in the endzone for touchdowns. With Bennett coming back, all the focus won’t be on Jeffery allowing him to make more plays. Expect a monster day from him.
TE Scott Chandler NE $5,300
Brady loves his TEs. Without Gronk, Chandler will have to step into this role. He will be the redzone threat because they lack a lot of big sized guys with hands at the receiver position when they get down there. The Patriots will continue to throw the ball because of Tom Brady and Chandler is a great value pick for the week.
K Dustin Hopkins WAS $4,500
He’s strictly the only kicker I could fit in my budget. The Cowboys without Romo will struggle on offense again which could give the Redskins better field position for Hopkins. That’s about as good of a rationale and roulette roll for the kicking game in the NFL.
DEF Bears $4,400
The Bears fantasy value is really poor compared to their play this year. For as awful as I thought they would be they haven’t been that bad in a transition year. They have a chance to be a good defense for their price going up against Gabbert. He’s a great candidate with whoever is playing Schaub to be able to get a pick six in that game.
