RB Jacquizz Rodgers TB $5,600
Doug Martin is out again this week and the 49ers grade out as the worst team against the run. Rodgers got 30 carries last week and while he probably won’t get there again, he should still see a heavy workload in his favor. There are multiple RBs with good value buys this week but Rodgers is my favorite.
WR Mike Evans TB $8,000
I’m not a big fan of the expensive WRs this week so there are more quandaries of where to spend the money. Mike Evans gets targets, catches, and touchdowns on a consistent basis and the 49ers are a team in shambles and distractions. He has an opportunity to break out for a big game with Martin out.
WR Jarvis Landry MIA $7,000
Landry was the final player to fill my roster and it’s a tough choice because he normally isn’t that one player that can go off to break a big game. What he does do well is being a consistent scorer. The Dolphins have struggled but Landry has gotten seven catches in all but one game. If he can do it again and add a touchdown he is a solid mid-level play.
WR Brandon LaFell CIN $5,700
The Browns have allowed a lot of passing touchdowns this year and the secondary looks to be without Haden and now Poyer. LaFell has stepped up into the number two wide receiver role so he makes for a solid value play. I think he can add a touchdown and five or six catches easily.
TE Rob Gronkowski NE $8,500
I always recommend stacking the QB so who else would I go with besides Gronk? He is no longer on the injury report and has back to back games of over 100 yards. It is only a matter of time before the multiple TD catches per game start coming.
K Mike Nugent CIN $4,600
He’s in the top ten for kickers and his matchup against the Browns should lead to a lot of point opportunities. The Browns defense is horrendous and their offense might be without their top two playmakers in Corey Coleman and Terrelle Pryor. The field position battle leads to Nugent having a good day.
DEF Patriots $4,400
I went cheap on this one to improve on other positions but there are so many defenses I love this week. I settled on the Patriots defense because New England can get off to an early lead forcing Landry Jones to make plays. Doing that forces him into having turnovers and takes away from Le’Veon Bell getting the ball.
