Hates:
QB Phillip Rivers SD $7,300
The Chiefs have one of the better defenses in the NFL and they also have one of the best home field advantages. Teams never play well in KC and the offensive line for San Diego has some questions again this year. Just avoid Rivers the first week.
RB Thomas Rawls SEA $7,400
I’m nervous about the amount of carries Rawls will get in this game. He suffered a major ankle injury at the end of last season and we haven’t seen much from him in the preseason as they slowly wean him back. While the matchup may look good, the price tag and uncertainty is not.
RB Arian Foster MIA $6,500
Jay Ajayi is out for this game so Foster will get more carries but there is nothing sexy about a 30 year old running back coming back and having to make his debut on the road in Seattle.
RB Jeremy Hill CIN $6,500
I like Hill this year for Cincinnati with a lot of the WRs gone, but I don’t like his matchup week one. The Jets have a good front to their defense and are hard to run on. Week one just won’t be his week.
WR Jordy Nelson GB $8,400
It’s been such a long time since Nelson took the field that I don’t know how well he will perform. Benjamin was in a similar role on Thursday and looked pretty good but the Packers do have plenty of options and don’t underestimate Jacksonville. Their defense is much better than last year.
WR AJ Green CIN $8,200
AJ Green gets to meet Revis Island in week one and there is nobody else to bail him out. The Bengals are without Sanu, Jones, and Eifert this year compared to last year. I think Revis will have the better day of these two.
WR Steve Smith BAL $6,700
Smith was on the edge of retirement but didn’t want to go out on a torn Achilles. Well coming back form that injury at his age is going to be just as hard. There are so many toss ups at positions on the Ravens depth chart that I just try and avoid them all.
TE Jimmy Graham SEA $6,100
Graham was not a factor in Seattle’s offense last year in his first season with the team. I don’t trust him at all this year as he tries to come back from a major knee injury. Those two recipes don’t add well together and we aren’t sure how healthy he is right now.
