CLEVELAND- This past weekend was a blur as it went flying by with all of the events going on downtown. The Tribe and The Mets, Lake Erie Monsters and The Charlotte Checkers two nights in a row and Fan Salute Night. Followed by Cavaliers Night as The Gladiators took the field in their Wine and Gold uniforms as they carry the momentum into NBA Playoffs Game 1 on Sunday between The Cavs and Pistons.
The Kiss, owned by rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, came to The Land to rock and roll all night behind QB Nathan Stanley.
QB Dennis Havrilla, now in his second week with The Glads, was at the controls but had some issues early on when he threw this pick six by Collins who made quick work of the return and levelling Havrilla on his way to the end zone.
This knocked the wind out of The Gladiators sails and The Kiss got off to a quick start. The Kiss were making their way down the field when some hometown heroics took place that saved another long distance connection between Stanley and Collins as you will see below. Cool thing is, the fan gets to keep the ball!
Here is a sequence of shots as The Glads start their comeback after stopping L.A.’s offence and breaking down the line and getting penetration to the quarterback giving Gladiators fans something to cheer about as the fast-paced action kicked into overdrive.
There was a ton of action in this nail-biter as The Gladiators fall to 1-2 with this 47-42 loss to The L.A. Kiss.
Postgame interviews:
More to come this week in The Rock nRoll Hall of Fame City as The Cavs come back to Quicken Loans Arena after the 106-101 victory in Game 1 on Sunday. They will be back in the paint on Wednesday. The Gladiators are on the road this week against Philadelphia.
