The PGA Tour has six new/returning players that received their tour card for the 2025 season. Whether you’ve been paying attention to LIV v PGA Tour legal issues, one thing is certain: these six men will be fixtures this season. Let’s meet them.
Lanto Griffin -9
New dad Lanto Griffin won the grueling qualifier and can now hope his injury, which hampered his 2024 season, is a thing of the past.
Hayden Buckley -6
Hayden lost his card after a brutal end to the 2024 PGA Tour season, finishing 156th on the FedEx Cup list. But a strong showing by the 15th man on the University of Missouri’s 15 man golf team has given him another year to show his skill set.
Takumi Kanaya -5
As a former #1 amateur, Kanaya had to hole two 8-foot par putts to save his spot. Even being last year’s top money winner on the Japanese tour does not guarantee a PGA Tour card. But the 26 year old from Hiroshima can now vie for success on weekends this year.
Alejandro Tosti -4
Tosti has had some trouble with disciplinary issues on the Korn Ferry Tour, but his play at Q-School had no issues.
Will Chandler -4
The Georgia Bulldog can now tee it up every Thursday as his 4 under par finish at Q-School was good for a three-way tie for fourth. His collegiate career was not great. And he had at least four Korn Ferry events this year where he tried to qualify for the event via the Monday qualifiers. He had zero events he was eligible for in 2024. But that persistence paid off. Especially with the eagle on Sunday’s last day for Q School.
Matthew Riedel -4
Matt just recently graduated from Vanderbilt and can now play with the big boys! He had the lead prior to Sunday’s final day, but lost that in roughly the first six holes. But he righted the ship and now can attempt to be in the top 100 for 2025 that automatically qualifies for their card the following year. New rules will make this year vital for so many golfers.
