Peter King of Sports Illustrated and MMQB reported Monday morning that he could see the Cleveland Browns being interested in Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler.
This is taken from King’s February 8th edition of MMQB:
“I think one little bit of free-agency buzz I heard here is the Broncos won’t be surprised if Browns coach Hue Jackson does more than just sniff around Brock Osweiler. Cleveland is in an interesting spot, picking second in the first round with a cadre of interesting but not lock college quarterbacks on the board. They’re surely not prepared to know what they’ll do a month from now in free-agency, but if Jackson is shaky on Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch and Carson Wentz, maybe Cleveland will look at a reasonably priced (or so you would think) prospect like Osweiler.”
Osweiler is fresh off of winning a Super Bowl ring and his next step will be to decide whether or not he wants to stay in Denver or test the waters of free-agency. The Browns, as usual, have one thing on their mind; finding a quarterback.
The 6’8″ 25-year-old has been in the NFL for four seasons after playing college ball at Arizona State University. He started seven games in the 2015 regular season and the Broncos went 5-2 in that stretch. Osweiler threw ten touchdown passes and six interceptions, with 1,967 passing yards.
If the Browns were to entrust the starting quarterback role to Osweiler, it would be somewhat of gamble, given that Denver didn’t trust him to start in the playoffs, but then again, the Browns don’t have a Hall of Famer who would be in front of him in the depth chart.

Well, a year later we get him, then months later cut him.
Go Figure!
