Major League Baseball is expected to announce in the next few days that another player has tested positive for the steroid Turinabol according to ESPN.
With this player not being announced yet it is expected that more players are to follow. Turinabol was not something that would likely be tested positive in a modern day PED test. Turinabol is beginning to show up widely around the league though. Toronto Blue Jays’ Chris Colabello and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Daniel Stumpf were suspended and had Turinabol in their systems.
With the number of players getting busted for PEDs there is two things to consider. With the rising number of suspensions in 2016, thoughts are now that we either have better technology to test for PEDs or more athletes are beginning to take supplements.
Here is a list of players that have been suspended so far in the 2016 season
-Jenrry Mejía (Now has a lifetime ban)
-Abraham Almonte (80 games)
-Daniel Stumpf (80 games)
-Chris Colabello (80 games)
-Dee Gordon (80 games)
-Josh Ravin (80 games)
With the list already having six names and the announcement of more to come, how long can this list possibly get this season?
As for the next group of players to be suspended, give me your thoughts as to who you think it might be on Twitter @PaytonVince .
