Pepper Pike, Ohio – Sophomore Harrison Pyner had 19 points to lead all scorers as Orange held off Perry, 53-46 to snap a two-game losing streak.
“Any time you win it’s nice. Tonight was a team win, and I’m very proud of my guys.” said Orange head coach Ashen Ward.
“We really worked together to get this win and had fun doing it.” said Pyner.
Sophomore guard Nicholas Walters had 11 to aid the winning effort.
“The win helped us a lot. It’s gonna create a lot of momentum going forward.” said Walters.
Senior forward Revelation Sanders pitched in with 13 points.
“We’re really excited to finish out the year on a high note.” said Sanders.
Orange improves to 5-11 and 4-8 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division. They close out the season with a road game Tuesday night against Shaker Heights, one of the top teams in the Cleveland area, and three home games against University School, conference foe Wickliffe, and New Day Academy.
Perry got 12 points from junior Jake Reid and 10 points from sophomore forward Nate Cubbison.
The Pirates drop to 6-6 and 4-6 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division. They have a busy week coming up as they travel to Kirtland on Monday night for a conference crossover, play against St. Martin de Porres on Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena, and have two road games against Painesville Harvey on Friday and Painesville Riverside on Saturday.
