SANDUSKY, OHIO – Don’t look for many yards through the air tonight as the Bulldogs of Olmsted Falls and the Anthony Wayne Generals do battle in the Division II Regional Finals in Sandusky.
The Bulldogs, winners over Westlake last week to advance to tonight’s matchup, are led by bruiser Spencer Linville, who has run for 1977 yards this season and 27 touchdowns.
As a whole the Bulldogs have rushed for 4304 yards, putting up 359 yards per game – in comparison they have thrown for just 651 yards.
The Generals are a tough physical team themselves, holding Glenville and Avon Lake to a combined 13 points in the playoff wins.
They have two players to watch that wo do a majority of rushing the football that the Bulldogs have to account for.
The first is junior Nick Schneider who has run for 664 yards and 7 scores and the other is Evan Brown, who has run for 1315 yards and 17 scores on 239 carries.
With the top three teams in Region 6 all losing in round one, it’s a great opportunity for both teams to be able to advance to next Friday’s State Semifinals.
