COLUMBUS, OHIO – As winter is ending, it’s that time of year again. Wrestling Championship season is back. With State finals now underway, we will soon find out who the real champions are of 2017.
Division One big winner of the day are Kyle Lawson senior out of Liberty high school. Kyle is a three-time state champion. I’d recommend him to Ohio State. He won his first-round match by pin.
Another winner to keep an eye on that’s due for a state title, Aaron Naples Senior out of Brunswick. Aaron is very tough on the top. Winning his match 15-0 says it all. Barring an injury, like last season, Aaron is due to claim his first State title as a Senior.
Returning State Champion Jaden Mottox undefeated Junior out of Grove City Central Crossing, won his match via pin. Jaden is seeking his second state title.
Division Two big winner is Rocky Jordan undefeated Junior out of St. Paris Graham local, won his match tech fall (15-0). He is currently seeking his second state title. You may be familiar with the last name Jordan. Well known wrestling family. His Brother Bo and Micah Jordan wrestle at Ohio State. Let’s just say Ohio State could have their eyes on another Jordan.
Let’s talk about another St. Paris Graham wrestler, Mitch Moore. Who is also a junior, a two-time state champion pin his way to the second round as well. Mitch is currently seeking his straight state title.
