3. Malik Hooker: Ballhawk
Free safety Malik Hooker came away with two interceptions, gaining 44 yards on his two returns in the blowout win over Bowling Green.
The sophomore was one of seven players in the country to intercept two passes in Week 1, and he is tied for the most in college football.
He has a nose for the ball and also made four solo tackles in the opener.
Even if Hooker’s interceptions were just anomalies and the product of facing an inferior opponent, he showed his capability of making big plays in Week 1 and perhaps the safety has more up his sleeve against Tulsa.
