The Ohio State Buckeyes (12-8, 2-5) fell to Northwestern 74-72 on Sunday afternoon in a game that came down to free throws.
Northwestern (16-4, 5-2) shot 19-of-24 at the line, receiving 21 points from Scottie Lindsey and 17 from Bryant McIntosh.
Ohio State shot just 12-of-21 from the charity stripe, which included crucial misses from Jae’Sean Tate (1-of-6) and Marc Loving in the final minute.
Four Buckeyes scored in double figures and Micah Potter added nine points off the bench.
It was Northwestern’s first win at Value City Arena.
Ohio State is back in action on Wednesday at home against Minnesota.
