COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Department of Athletics has scheduled three non-conference football games at Ohio Stadium, including one in the 2024 season and two in 2029, and changed the date of an existing non-conference game in 2024, as well.
The scheduling agreements include:
- A date change for the 2024 Western Michigan game from Sept. 21 to Sept. 7;
- Adding a game against Marshall on Sept. 21, 2024;
- Adding a game against Nevada on Sept. 1, 2029; and
- Adding a game against Charlotte on Sept. 8, 2029.
Ohio State and Marshall have met twice previously on the gridiron: in 2004, Ohio State needed a Mike Nugent 55-yard field goal as time expired to win, 24-21; and in 2010 Ohio State defeated Marshall, 45-7, in the first regular season weeknight game – Thursday evening – for Ohio State since 1997.
The Buckeyes and Broncos of Western Michigan have played once, a 38-12 Ohio State win at Ohio Stadium in the 2015 season.
The games against Nevada and Charlotte will represent first-time opponents for Ohio State football.
2024 Schedule
