Oakland Tops the Indians 6-0 as Bieber Loses First of the Season; Three Takeaways

1. Tough Day for the ‘O’

It was one of ‘those’ days for the Indians offense, as the team went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position, and in three innings had two or more runners on base and failed to come up with a big hit when needed.

The most frustrating inning had to be the second when the Indians had runners on second and third with no outs in the second down 2-0, and Rajai Davis flew out to shallow right, Roberto Perez struck out on a 3-2 count, and Erik Gonzalez hit into a fielder’s choice to end the threat.

The bottom of the order was awful on the day, going 0-for-11 with a walk and three K’s and were 0-for-7 at the plate with runners in scoring position.

Kudos to the A’s pitching staff for stopping the Indians cold.
