NOTABLE INJURIES FROM WEEK 2 OF THE NFL SEASON

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Week Two of the NFL season is in the books, and it brought with it quite a few upsets along with some notable injuries.

This week will we focus on the 5 worst and most costly injuries of week two.

1 – New England QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s shoulder injury. Through six quarters it looked as though the Patriots would be in good hands during the rest of the 4 game Tom Brady suspension as once again, Jimmy Garoppolo looked great. The third man out of Eastern Illinois had begun the season with 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions and 498 yards. He was on fire before suffering a shoulder injury in the second quarter Sunday against the Miami Dolphins and being replaced by rookie Jacoby Brissett.

The good news for New England is that Tom Brady returns in two weeks. The better news for New England is when Bill Belichick eventually cuts Brad for diminishing skills, they seem to have the new QB of the future already on the roster with Garoppolo.

2 – Josh McCown, Cleveland Browns QB. With RGIII going out in week one, it was up to McCown to save the Browns season. He did for a little while at least. Leading the Browns to a 20-0 lead over Baltimore before getting his shoulder smashed, and watching the Ravens come back to win 25-20. McCown will be out several weeks if he is able to make it back at all this season. The Browns will now start a different quarterback for the fifth straight regular season game dating back to week 16 of last year with Johnny Manziel.

3 – Cam Irving of the Cleveland Browns. This center had been greatly underachieving through the first 18 games of his NFL career. Despite being a first round gigantic bust, it is still never good when your starting center goes down with a bruised lung, no matter how bad he is. The Browns o-line will have to revamp yet again.

4 – Adrian Peterson, running back for the Minnesota Vikings. Not much I even have to say here, he has been the best running back in the NFL consistently for the last 10 years and tore his meniscus last night at home against Green Bay. Enough said, the Vikings already without starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, find themselves in an even bigger hole now, despite the 0-2 start.

5 – Carl Nassib, linebacker of the Cleveland Browns. Can the Browns really have three key players on this list, I mean really? They sure do, it went from a bad dream to a nightmare when the report came out on Nassib. He was only two games into his career, but fans and media could already spot he was different. Nassib was impressive in camp , pre-season and throughout the first two games of the regular season, the broken hand will also have him out awhile. This will surely slow his development. He will undergo surgery this week.

Honorable mention – Demarcus Ware (DEN)
