Canton District

Favorite #1 Massillon Jackson (20-1)

Contenders #2 Green, #3 Hoover, #4 Massillon Washington, #5 Louisville

Sleeper #7 Massillon Perry

This is one of the few districts where we can say with quite a bit of confidence that there is one team head and shoulders above the rest.

Jackson is the best team in this region and has already made quick work of a few of the opponents in this district, handling Green (which was its biggest threat in the Federal League) in back-to-back games last week.

That being said, the number two through five seeds in this district are all good teams and those will make for some highly entertaining games.

#5 Louisville vs. #4 Massillon Washington could go either way, but we can’t help but picture how fun the atmosphere would be for Jackson vs. Massillon to meet in the semifinals at Thurman Munson Stadium.

There’s a good chance Hoover will play Green in the other semifinal and the two teams split their two regular season meetings. A rubber match for a trip to the district final would be a fun game to check out in Stark County.

Keep an eye out for Perry to face Green, as one of their two head-to-head meetings was a 1-0 shutout.

There will be talented prospects all over the field in Stark County in these district games and you really can’t go wrong with any of the matchups starting with the second round.
