The North Ridgeville Rangers visited Amherst today in a SWC conference game. Amherst was riding adrenaline from a come from behind win against St. Joes Academy, Tuesday and brought that energy into the game.
The Lady Rangers behind pitcher Autumn Behlke kept Amherst off the score board for three innings. She put her lady Rangers on the board with the first of two home runs in the second inning. By the time Amherst got to bat in the third inning, they were down by three, but that is when things changed.
Amherst came alive in the bottom of the third inning and added 5 runs to the board. North Ridgeville tried to answer but was called out at home with good defense from the lady Comets.
Both teams, had great plays throughout the game, solid defense, great offense. In the top of the seventh, A. Behlke hit her second home run and closed the score to 6-5. But that is all the Ranger offense could manage and came away with the loss.
