CLEVELAND– It’s no secret that FS1’s Nick Wright thinks LeBron James is taken for granted.
On Thursday during his show “First Things First” Wright said that the year James is having is one of “the all-time great seasons” in league history, and he isn’t getting the respect he deserves.
In the last two years, James has set career-highs in every statistical category other than points per game. Currently, he is leading the Cavs on a 13-game win streak and singlehandedly taking over at the end of those games.
Just last night, James nailed a dagger three against the Sacramento Kings with 16 seconds left to give Cleveland a five-point lead and secure the win.
Using his shooting percentage in particular, Wright explained why James’ season is so remarkable.
“The guy is shooting 59 percent as a perimeter player, we’ve never seen anything close to it. He’s shooting 43 percent from three. How good is that? Well, Kyle Korver, one of the greatest shooters we’ve ever seen, is shooting 43.8 percent from three. Steph Curry’s not even shooting 40 percent from three this year.
And so yeah, we talk about it, but what we are witnessing– and it’s why I harp on it everyday– is the greatest player we’ve ever seen, playing the best he’s ever played. The season LeBron is having right now matches up to any of the all-time great seasons we’ve ever seen.”
